Artist Bio

Bringing art into your life, one brush stroke at a time.

Wendy Freeman is a Visual Artist and Small Business owner and operator of Painting Pretty, Inc which is currently based in Philadelphia, PA.

Having obtained her degrees in Elementary Education and Human Services, she soon realized that creating art was her passion. Following her career as a childcare director and property manager, Wendy began to paint houses part time in which Painting Pretty was formed. After starting her interior painting business, Painting Pretty, she had developed an interest in creating designs on clothing and other products. Creating art on products pushed her to transition her art onto canvas, resulting in her specializing in acrylic and oil paintings.

Since then, Wendy has become a full-time artist and has found herself using art as her therapy. If she is not doing commissioned art, she often creates paintings that express her current views on issues surrounding the community like racial injustice and mental health. She also instructs paint classes known as Painting Pretty 101 which is a traveling paint class that move throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, and Maryland.

Wendy’s goal is to help others tap into their creative side by expressing themselves through visual designs, whether it’s through their hands or hers.
